The Story Center at MCPL

The Story Center at MCPL The Story Center empowers authors, performers, and digital storytellers to create, share, and connect with stories.

Located at the Woodneath Library Center, The Story Center is a mission-enhancement program of Mid-Continent Public Library. We offer a range of free public programs, several publication options, and a collection of resources that empower people to create stories, share those stories, and connect with the stories of others. Funding for Story Center programming is provided in part by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.

Through discussion and hands-on practice with storyteller Kevin Cordi, Ph.D., you’ll explore how perspective, point of view, and intentional choices transform experience into narrative. Whether you’re a storyteller, writer, artist, or educator, you’ll learn how shifting the lens reshapes truth itself. Discover how the stories you create reflect not only the world around you, but the power within you—because stories matter when you do.
