The brutal attempt to silence Salman Rushdie is an attack on writers and readers everywhere. He has spent most of his writing career under threat of the violence that now has happened. If his books have enriched your life, as they have mine, consider making a public acknowledgment that his courage matters. If you haven’t read his work, you could honor him by doing so now.

I know you will be excited to learn that we will host 2 authors during the "Kanikapila" event this Saturday, June 26. Authors Carol Alena Aronoff and Ishle Yi Park will be reading from their recently published works starting at 3PM here on the courtyard stage in front of the bookstore. Bring your own chairs and be mindful of your social distances. Both authors will sign books following their readings.
