MEDC attended the Jaffrey Selectboard meeting Wednesday evening as a subreceiptent of a Community Development Block Grant application to support the expansion of Monadnock Food Coop. This is a great example of a public-private partnership. We are pleased to share the application will be moving forward to the state.

The town of Jaffrey is applying for a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant to help outfit a new Monadnock Food Co-op grocery store location.

A UNH study found that visits to just nine of the state’s rail trails generated an estimated $18.7 million in economic activity, $2.7 million in tax revenue, and supported 164 jobs annually.

Monadnock's Ashuelot Rail Trail alone is estimated to generate $818,000 in annual economic activity from visitor spending, supports 7 jobs, and generate $135,000 in tax revenue.

Congrats to Picadilly Farm of Wi******er and Archway Farm of Keene for being recipients of the Monadnock Food Coop and CCCD Farm Fund grant. More than 400 farms operate in Cheshire County and account for roughly 8–12% of all business establishments. Although its direct employment footprint is relatively modest, agriculture has an outsized influence on quality of life and related industries such as food processing, agritourism, outdoor recreation, and hospitality.

MEDC is pleased to announce that EPA has granted our Brownfields RLF Fund an additional $500,000 in supplemental funding to support our statewide efforts. We were 1 of 31 existing high-performing RLF grantees in the US. And congrats to the municipalities that also received general funding so that we can make NH site ready.

EPA announced $248 million in Brownfields Multipurpose, Assessment, and Cleanup grants to 190 communities to accelerate the cleanup of polluted sites across the nation.
