The BackRoad Girls
The BackRoad Girls met when Jessie, a singer/songwriter and communications professional moved back to her family's ranch with her husband. Little did she know that just a few miles up the familiar gravel road was another curly haired and creative woman who was also starting a new chapter in her life. Megan, a history teacher from eastern Montana, is captivated by the old homesteads that dot the prairie landscape and the quiet beauty that surrounds the farmstead she and her husband recently purchased. The two women spend their time together chatting around the kitchen tables in their old farmhouses, laughing about their shared clumsiness, hiking the hills and coming up with creative ways to capture the essence of the rural lifestyle they both know and love. On clear North Dakota evenings The BackRoad Girls will grab their cameras, load up Megan's blue heeler dog and jump in the pickup to cruise along the gravel and red scoria roads. Dust floats from their tires as they explore their landscape with the windows rolled down. If you find yourself on a backroad somewhere you might catch them kneeling down in the ditches to snap some shots of wildflowers, sticking their noses in old buildings to marvel at how the light shines through the windows, or zipping by you on their way to a photo shoot.
