Hello Keene State Students, we are back for another great semester!

And this time we will be holding in-person meetings!

Our first meeting will be held in room 169 in the Media Arts Center at 6pm this Thursday. Come bring a friend, and learn about what we have to offer as a production-based organization!

We run programs to encourage students to make films, and you you can win prizes as well!

The invitation is open to every student, not just film students, so come in if you are interested!

Reminder that today is the kickoff for the 7 day film festival! Below is the required prop and line of dialogue. If you are in need of the prop you can find them in the lobby at the media arts center, the equipment room also at the media arts center, and our office on the second floor of the student center. Be safe, we can’t wait to watch your films!

Hello Students!

This Friday, November 13th is the kickoff for the 7-Day film fest in which you have 7 days to write, shoot, and edit a short film, which you will be given a prop and a line of dialogue to incorporate.

We have three money prizes to offer! 100$, $200, and $300 to B&H Photo for the top three places. All you have to do is enter.

Starting on Friday, November 13th the prop and line of dialogue will be available in the lobby of the Media Arts Center, the equipment room, and our office on the second floor of the student center.

As with everything now a days, we ask that you be safe while filming and keep others safe.

To turn in your short film by Friday the 20th, share it with us on Google Drive at [email protected], if you need another option to drop it off or just have questions, email us!

We can’t wait to see your films!

Don’t forget our first competition of the year is coming this Friday, October 9th!

Our Microshorts competition is happening this Friday at 3pm on the Keene State Media Productions Youtube channel. There will be a link in the description of the Youtube video for a voting sheet to determine 1s​t​, 2n​d​, and 3r​d​ place so don’t forget to vote!

Reminder, the Microshort is a 30-second to 2-minute video shot on your phone that incorporates the theme of change.

Turn in your Microshort by sharing it with us on google drive at [email protected]​ or if you need another way to turn it in, email us and we can figure out a way to get your submission. All submissions are due with a title and the names of the people who worked on the film by Thursday night, October 8t​h​.

We are back! And our first competition is on its way!

Our Microshorts competition will take place next Friday, October 9th, at 3pm, so all submissions must be in by Thursday night. We need an MP4 or MOV file, and you can share it with us at [email protected] on google drive, or if you need to submit it some other way, or just have questions, e-mail us and we can figure something out.

The films will be premiering on Youtube, so look us up and subscribe so you can be notified when they premier.

The Microshorts are short films between 30 seconds and 2 minutes. And your short films MUST be shot on a phone, no professional equipment allowed. This year, we are incorporating the theme of CHANGE, so your microshort must include something about change, literal or not. The goal of this competition is to realize that you do not need a whole crew and professional gear to make a fun and interesting film.

We have PRIZES for first, second, and third place. First will get a $200 gift card for B&H Photo, which is a website that sells professional production equipment. Second place is $150 for B&H Photo, and Third is a $100 gift card to Amazon. The judging will be done online and is voted on by an audience poll so bring your friends!

A reminder that we do need to be safe when making films. Please stay away from large crowds when shooting, wear a mask, and be safe. If you are making a film with people you live with, that is fine. But in public please be safe.

Finally, we want to remind you that this competition is open to ALL students, not just film majors. We welcome everyone and don’t require any prior experience, just passion and interest.

Heads up! Tonight KSMP will be meeting in the green screen room. We’ll be holding a Foley and sound equipment workshop for new members and for anyone else who wants to learn more. Tonight’s meeting will also be the start of our two week Foley competition. Come to the green screen located in the MAC at 8 pm to learn more.
