👀 Hi folks. I just want to bring something to everyone's attention please. Only containers with a NY deposit can be returned for 5 cents. In just one week I have paid out on nine HUGE bags of non-refundable cans and plastic. This equates to about $145 that I paid out and goes in the trash. Obviously this isnt sustainable as a new business. I'm not sure what my plan is yet going forward. Perhaps having people write their names and numbers on the bags when they bring them in so I can keep track and let people know if there was an issue 🤷‍♀️ here's a picture of the bags. All of this is no good!

I had such a great time at the 250th yesterday! Thank you all for coming. We were able to collect 214 bottles in the barrels that were put out. Thats $10.70 plus $6 was donated at the event to start towards our Keeseville Holiday Festival games. If you want to donaten just drop off empties (no need to count) at the redemption center between now and December labeled "games". Lets make those kids' smiles even bigger 😃

Thank you to everyone that has brought their bottles and cans to donate to Honor Flight. We've already raised $153.60! Thats just in our first TWO WEEKS of operating. Way to show up!! 🙌 Keep it coming

One week until Keeseville's 250 Celebration of the USA on July 26th! I will be there (in costume) along with Courtney Thomas and my kids putting on 4 FREE games with prizes for the children. I want to give a few shout outs that made this all possible. Firstly, AMVETS post 87, who not only donated a lot to the games and awesome grab bags that will be there but also for every Holiday Festival and anything else this town has needed from you, thank you all. Secondly, I'd like to give a huge Thank You to the Keeseville United Methodist Church for their very generous donation towards the games so we were able to DOUBLE our original plans. A third thank you goes to Jeanne for donating 4 Amazon gift cards. That gave me the idea to do raffle door prizes for the kids that play the games. So there are 4 summer themed baskets the kids will enter into a drawing to win as well. Next, I want to thank everyone that came to the redemption center and donated their cans and bottles to help make this possible. You all are great and every nickle counts! The smiles we about to plaster on these kids faces is what life is all about. Lastly, but certainly not least, Bruce Bourgeois. I appreciate you approaching me to take part in this wonderful event. You always have the best interest of your community at heart and we'd all be better off if more people had your patience and diplomacy. You have made Keeseville come back together in a way I didn't know was possible. So Thank You!

I will still be taking donations of cans and bottles for Honor Flight. There is no need to count donations, I'm happy to do this on my own time. Once counted, I will reach out periodically to the appropriate person to give the funds to. Any bags left in off hours without a name will be considered donation to this cause. And any money left longer than 30 days after notification will also be sent there. It feels right since I began as a veteran organization to stay in touch with that.

Keesevillians, Sunday July 26th

Sunday July 26 is the final day of Keeseville 250 with a parade at 12:30 ending at JC Park where visitors will be greeted with a community picnic courtesy of the Keeseville VFW, Elks and Knights of Columbus, bands courtesy of Hamilton Funeral Home, free games courtesy of AMVETS and Dani’s Cans, free train ride courtesy of Town of Black Brook, a dunk booth courtesy of Cemetery Revival, adult obstacle course from Davies Party Rental, a huge craft information fair , animals from Baraby Cattle Company, Wheatpaste Radio simulcast and all the company you want to keep!! We will have a tent and tables but we expect a big crowd so don’t be afraid to bring camp chairs to relax, listen to some nice music, have a nice free meal and take time to get reacquainted with your neighbors.
