Five Wonderful Lessons I Learned in 2024
1️⃣ Recognition matters. While it’s not necessary to be recognized for your work, it’s deeply meaningful when it happens. Those small or large moments of appreciation remind you that your efforts are seen and valued.
2️⃣ Create your own space. It’s not about waiting for a seat at someone else’s table—it’s about building your own table, crafting your own feast, and thriving there.
3️⃣ Growth happens when you let go. As a mother, I’ve learned how much my adult children can flourish when I step aside and give them the space to grow into their full potential.
4️⃣ Love is deeper than words. As a wife, I’ve learned just how unconditional and profound love can be. It’s a beautiful reminder of how truly blessed I am to be loved so deeply.
5️⃣ Pageantry is life-changing. As a pageant director, I’ve discovered that mentoring and guiding young women is some of the most fulfilling work I’ll ever do. It’s not always easy, but the rewards—both seen and unseen—are immeasurable. I’m thrilled to continue building upon the beauty of pageantry, combining my love for it with the values of the Southern Etiquette Society. Together, they inspire grace, confidence, and empowerment in young women.
Bonus lesson? My grand-dogs and grand-cats bring me more peace and joy than I could have imagined, and I’ve learned that my servant’s heart finds its greatest fulfillment in uplifting others.
Here’s to carrying these lessons forward into 2025! 💖 What have you learned this year?
