Twenty-five years ago, our nation experienced one of the darkest days in its history. On September 11, 2001, nearly 3,000 innocent people lost their lives, including 343 firefighters, 71 law enforcement officers, 55 military personnel, and countless civilians whose lives were forever changed.

On this 25th Anniversary of September 11, we invite firefighters, fire department honor guards, emergency medical personnel, law enforcement officers, military personnel, veterans, elected officials, community leaders, and members of the public to join together in a solemn ceremony of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude. This ceremony will honor the courage and sacrifice of those who gave their lives in service to others, recognize the dedication of today’s First Responders, and reaffirm our commitment to never forget the heroes and victims of September 11, 2001.

The public is encouraged to attend and stand alongside the Firefighters, First Responders, Law Enforcement, and other Emergency personnel who continue to serve our communities with courage and dedication.

Together, we will remember those we lost, honor those who served, and renew our pledge that their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

As classrooms fill up this week, let's remember the seats that are empty.
Backpacks are packed, first-day photos are taken, and buses are rolling again. But not every child made it back to the classroom this year. For children ages 5–14, drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury death after motor vehicle crashes.

These are kids who should be at their desks, at recess, at the lunch table with friends. Water safety isn't seasonal — it's a year-round responsibility we carry for every child in our lives.

Take a moment today to talk to your kids about water safety, check on pool fences and locks, and make sure every child in your care knows how to swim.
