The Kennedale Fire Marshal's Office rescinds the Burn Ban effective immediately.

Drought conditions have improved in Kennedale and Southern Tarrant County following the rains we experienced over the weekend. As a result of improved conditions, the Burn Ban is hereby rescinded.

Hotwork and other flammable construction processes may resume with permit(s).

Good morning Kennedale.

Due to the weather forecast we will be canceling the outdoor activities during the Public Safety Open House tomorrow Saturday 10/3.

The Public Safety Open House will continue with indoor events, educational materials, and fire station tours!

We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow from 10 am - 1 pm at the Kennedale Fire Station, 100 Cloverlane Dr.

Scattered to numerous showers and storms will redevelop across the area this morning and continue off and on through Saturday. Some heavy rain and localized flash flooding will continue to be possible, although not as widespread as what was seen on Thursday.

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northwestern Dallas County in north central Texas...
Denton County in north central Texas...
Tarrant County in north central Texas...

* Until 1230 PM CDT.

* At 1017 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Fort Worth, Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Carrollton, Frisco,
Denton, Lewisville, Flower Mound, Mansfield, Euless, Bedford,
Grapevine, Haltom City, Keller, Coppell and Hurst.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

The Kennedale Fire Department and Office of Emergency Management is please to announce that Texas Department of Emergency Management and Federal Emergency Management Agency have approved the 2026 City of Kennedale Hazard Mitigation Plan.

The Hazard Mitigation Action Plan is a FEMA required document that identifies natural hazards affecting the Kennedale community and outlines actions to reduce long-term risk to people, property, and critical infrastructure. The plan is updated every three years through a process of public input and hazard analysis.

Update from the National US National Weather Service Fort Worth Texas

Overview
● An upper-level trough will move toward the Southern Plains as moisture associated with Hurricane Polo moves northward out of Mexico.
● Atmospheric moisture may reach near-record levels for late September, which will be conducive to very high rainfall rates.
Despite the lack of recent rainfall, pockets of high rainfall rates in a short period of time will still be able to overwhelm drainage systems and dry soils.
● Rain should reach western portions of North and Central Texas Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, then become more widespread Wednesday.
● A slower eastward progression of the trough could mean repeated rounds of heavy rainfall continuing through Friday.
● Current rainfall projections through Friday are between 2-5" for most areas with isolated totals of 7-8”.
