If you're wondering what perfection tastes like... it's rosemary garlic fries paired with our 2022 Columbia Valley Merlot. 🍟🍷

Happy National French Fry Day! Great wine doesn't have to be reserved for special occasions. Pair our 2022 Columbia Valley Merlot with these crispy rosemary garlic fries for an easy appetizer that's full of bold flavor.

Rosemary Garlic Fries
• Fries of your choice
• Rosemary olive oil (we love the one from Country Mercantile!)
• Minced garlic
• Shredded Parmesan
• Fresh chopped rosemary
• Salt, pepper & garlic powder

Cook your fries until golden and crispy. While they're still hot, toss them with the rosemary olive oil, garlic, Parmesan, rosemary, and your seasonings. Serve immediately with a glass of our 2022 Columbia Valley Merlot.

Congratulations to our Winemaker, Irving Mendoza, on receiving the 2026 Walter J. Clore Scholarship from the Washington Winegrowers.

Since joining Badger Mountain & Powers Winery in 2015, Irving has dedicated himself to mastering his craft, progressing from the barrel room to Assistant Winemaker and, in 2022, becoming our Winemaker. His commitment to continuous learning is evident as he pursues the Winery Technology Certificate Program at Yakima Valley College while crafting the wines you enjoy.

We're honored to have Irving leading our winemaking program and are thrilled to see his passion and dedication recognized by the Washington wine community. Join us in congratulating him on this well-deserved achievement! 🍷

On behalf of the Washington Winegrowers Board of Directors, congratulations to Irving Mendoza of Yakima Valley College on receiving this year's Walter J. Clore Scholarship.

Established in 1997 by the Winegrowers, the scholarship honors Dr. Walter J. Clore's pioneering contributions to Washington viticulture and enology and supports students pursuing wine-related education.

Irving brings more than a decade of winemaking experience, beginning his career in the barrel room at Badger Mountain & Powers Winery in 2015. He advanced to Assistant Winemaker in 2021 and became Winemaker in 2022. Currently enrolled in the Winery Technology Certificate Program at Yakima Valley College, Irving is continuing to expand his knowledge and expertise while contributing to the future of Washington's wine industry.

Congratulations, Irving, and best wishes for your continued success!

Irving is one of 10 recipients of scholarships managed by the Washington Wine Industry Foundation. Winegrowers also extends congratulations to each of them! Since 2002, over half a million dollars has been awarded to over 250 Washington students with $40,000 in scholarships awarded this year.
