John Deere and Ariens/Gravely Ignition Switch Design

John Deere and Gravely, but they share a very strange switch.

Ariens Gravely 04331700

And

John Deere TCA22740, TCA15075

This switch has a high level of people saying it is malfunctioning because it behaves different from your ordinary tractor switch.



The switch is basically three independent switches:

B to A in "On"

G to M in "Off"

S2 to S1 in "Start"

See the attached image.

B is power into the switch. A is power leaving the switch and going out to the safety circuits.

In the "On" position and in the "Start" position: B connects to A.



From there, the power goes out and passes thru the safety circuits.



If all switches are okay, the power comes back into the switch thru S2, from the safety switches.

S2 only connects to S1, and only in the start position.
