OMG! So true!! 😆🐕‍🦺❤️🐾💩

I used to think I was a patient person, until I started standing outside with a leash in my hand at what feels like every possible angle of the neighborhood, watching my dog inspect the world like they are reviewing real estate and rejecting it all with absolute confidence. There’s a special kind of endurance that comes from quietly waiting while they circle, pause, reconsider, and move on like the ground itself is personally offensive, and I’m just standing there trying to look supportive while slowly losing faith in time. It’s funny in the most exhausting way because I know we’ll do this again tomorrow and I’ll still show up like it’s not a shared daily negotiation between us and the universe 🐾

The Rosie 2 Rescue Team marked International Pet Day on Saturday, April 11, 2026, by sponsoring the Kensington neighborhood’s (KECA) 4th Annual Dog Parade.

It was paws-itively an amazing event, with dogs of all sizes and breeds joining their families to parade around several blocks and soak up the beautiful spring weather.

Prizes went to Biscuit for Most Social, Kye for Most Talkative, Lenny for Best Tail Wags, Waffles for Cutest Fuzzy Face, and Carl for Best Costume.

A lemonade and cookie stand brought in $45 for The Oldies But Goodies Cocker Spaniel Rescue.

Huge thanks to Joan McDermot (KECA President) for organizing and hosting in her front yard, and to the incredible R2R Team for all their help.

We can’t wait to see everyone — and hopefully even more pups — next year!
