As someone who values independence and rarely asks for assistance, I now find myself at a crossroads that compels me to step out of my comfort zone. An extraordinary opportunity has presented itself, one that’s so important to me that I’m willing to seek support to make it a reality.
I’ve been given the chance to write three books—stories I’ve held inside for far too long, and I can’t contain them any longer. I’ll share more details soon, but for now, I need to clear my slate to focus on this creative journey.
To pursue this dream, I must let go of another passion: my deep love for wine, which has been a major part of my life for the past 44 years.
I’m actively seeking a buyer or investor for La Rochelle Wines. Ideally, I’d like to stay involved in some capacity, but I need the freedom to dedicate myself to my writing.
There are so many details and possibilities to consider, but here’s what’s most important to me:
My Hopes:
• To find the right people who appreciate how wine enriches life—those who understand that wine, shared around a table with great food, conversation, and love, fulfills its highest purpose: connecting people and fostering gratitude.
• To find someone with the vision to take what’s been built over decades and elevate it to new heights.
• To find a steward who will partner with our exceptional growers to continue raising the bar for California Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
• To ensure that our Members—who are like family—continue to experience the quality and passion they’ve come to love.
What the new stewards will inherit:
• The first wine club in California with incredibly loyal members.
• The largest selection of single-vineyard Pinot Noirs in California.
• Access to grapes from the most sought-after vineyards.
• A proven track record of sales and a reputation for producing some of the most age worthy and complex wines in California (including awards like Best Pinot Noir in CA in 2020 and Best Pinot Noir in the Americas in 2021 from Lux Life Magazine).
… and so much more. But I’ll stop here before this starts to sound like an ad!
