I’m so proud to announce I have accepted a job with the IRS in Anchorage. Because of this, I’m unable to prepare tax returns or give paid tax advice. Hey Everyone. I’m enjoying my retirement from being an Electronic Return Originator. FYI….for my clients, I am willing to help you complete and double check your taxes if you are doing your own with online software. My special rate for former clients is only $150/hour. For many, this will be less than I was actually charging you as a paid preparer.

I would like to thank the good folks of Ketchikan who were my clients over the last 20 years...I am truly grateful for your patronage! After 28 total years in business, I will be hanging up my hat...retiring from the business of Tax Preparation. I am still a tax and business consultant for an hourly rate...just no longer offering E-filing of taxes. I've learned more from the last 20 years than I have taught. E-file does not start until Feb. 12th this year. Latest start ever. They are having to reconfigure software to account for the stimulus payments. If you did not get all the stimulus payments you were entitled, you can get it on your tax return as a “recovery rebate credit”.

IR-2021-16, January 15, 2021 — The Internal Revenue Service announced that the nation's tax season will start on Friday, February 12, 2021, when the tax agency will begin accepting and processing 2020 tax year returns.

Since we are in a time where we all need to asses our racial biases, I took a look at the data from my own business. Out of 385 clients, I only have 6 black clients. I'm not sure exactly what our black population is here in Ketchikan, but I am worried I may have underrepresented them. My apologies to my K-Town Brothers!
