This is wonderful to see!

Two members of the General Matter team recently visited with about 30 welding students at Ballard Memorial High School. Standing at left is Fabian Villota, with Buz Smith at right. The two men talked about opportunities at the new facility going into the area, along with professional and technical requirements for the company, and kinds of welding jobs that would be available there. Students also had time to ask questions about the company and the work.

We are so happy to have Oldham Machine Works join the Chamber of Commerce!

Founded by Eric and Lori Ann Oldham in 1993, Oldham Machine Works creates custom metal fabrications for the project needs of the Department of Energy (DOE), as well as various industries requiring unique products for the marketplace. OMW started in a 576 square foot building and has expanded to a 8200 sq ft. today. They also build components designed to handle both fissile and non-fissile materials for on-site construction, deactivation, and logistics packaging.

Ballard County is home to many unique businesses, just like Oldham Machine Works!

Congrats to Seldom Dry Paws for being named October Business of the Month! Our County is very lucky to have this great service for our furry friends, that also doubles as our county animal shelter!

"Seldom Dry Paws LLC was established in May 2025 by Amanda and Larry Miller. Our groomers, Amanda and Lauren Dunker, are here to care for your pets with love and attention.

We offer grooming, boarding, and doggie daycare. We also operate the Ballard County Animal Shelter, where we take in and care for many stray dogs. We’re proud to support our community and grateful for the trust you place in us every day.
