We made a lot of progress yesterday! Background color is totally in and the larger florals have been started. It’s going to be too cold to paint today (High of 35🥶), so it’s time for some warm coffee and snuggles with my little Mustang. 🩷

This Veterans Day, we pause to honor the bravery, sacrifice, and dedication of all who have served.

In Mendon, MO, the U.S. Army Mothers Post #27 Monument now stands renewed with a freshly placed commemorative plaque, replacing the original that had become weathered and unreadable. This restoration ensures that the legacy of our local patriots will never be forgotten.

By preserving this tribute, the Chariton County community keeps their memory alive for generations to come. ❤️🤍💙

The Chariton County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC), in partnership with the Chariton County Community Foundation (CCCF), hosted a dinner on September 11th at Well Seasoned Barbeque in Brunswick to celebrate the recipients of their 2025 Community Grant Program.

The event brought together grant recipients, community leaders, and residents from across Chariton County for an evening of recognition, connection, and collaboration. In addition to highlighting the five outstanding projects supported by the grants, the dinner provided an opportunity for local organizations and individuals to share ideas, celebrate progress, and strengthen partnerships that continue to shape the county’s future.

“We’re honored not only to support these incredible projects but also to celebrate the people behind them,” said Dale Linneman, CCCF President. “This event showcased the creativity, dedication, and collaboration that make Chariton County such a special place to live and work.”

Out of 12 strong applications from across the county, five organizations were selected to receive $1,000 grants based on justification for funds, community enhancement or long-term impact, and alignment with CCEDC’s goals. Checks were presented by Larry Pollard, CCCF Vice-President.
