Meet Kari Littleton, a member of the Chariton County Economic Development Corporation Board. Born and raised in Keytesville and now living in Salisbury, Kari has called Chariton County home for most of her life. She owns Kari Lea & Company LLC, a small business specializing in custom laser engraving and UV printing, works part-time at Moberly Regional Medical Center, and serves as Secretary of the Salisbury Chamber of Commerce.

Kari joined the CCEDC Board to become more involved in shaping the county’s future. As a local small business owner, she brings her own perspective and ideas to helping existing businesses grow, encouraging new opportunities, and making Chariton County an even better place to live, work, and invest.

Looking ahead, Kari is excited about the potential for communities across Chariton County to work together. Each town has its own strengths, challenges, and ideas, and she believes sharing resources and learning from one another can benefit the entire county. Kari encourages more people with ideas, energy, and a passion for Chariton County to get involved. By bringing different perspectives together and building on one another’s ideas, we can accomplish great things for our communities.

Meet Sydney Gladbach Rice, Treasurer of the Chariton County Economic Development Corporation Board. Sydney has called Chariton County home for the past 10 years and enjoys giving back by serving on several local committees and boards. Professionally, she works as a Wholesale Fertilizer Account Manager for AGRIServices of Brunswick.

Sydney joined the CCEDC Board because she cares deeply about the future of Chariton County and wants to help its communities continue to grow and thrive. She believes economic development creates opportunities for everyone by supporting local businesses, creating quality jobs, attracting new residents, and ensuring future generations have a place they’re proud to call home. She is excited about the county’s potential for growth, new businesses, and the fresh ideas the next generation will bring.

What Sydney loves most about Chariton County is its strong agricultural heritage and the values it represents. She sees agriculture as the foundation of the county’s identity and an important driver of its continued success.

The CCEDC Board is made up entirely of volunteers who care deeply about Chariton County. Being involved is a rewarding experience and we encourage anyone who is passionate about our county’s future to connect with a board member to learn more.

Meet Kellie Blunk, Secretary of the Chariton County Economic Development Corporation Board. As the founder and Fractional HR Executive of HR Growth Advisors in Hallsville, MO, she remains deeply connected to Chariton County through her family’s farm, local businesses, and strong community ties.

Kellie was inspired to join the board by the hardworking, caring residents of Chariton County and their shared commitment to keeping rural communities vibrant while embracing new ideas for the future.

For Kellie, economic development is about creating opportunities for families to thrive close to home. She believes investing in local businesses and jobs helps strengthen rural communities, keeps families together, attracts talent, and builds a brighter future for the next generation. She’s also excited by the creativity and innovation happening across each community as towns find new ways to grow while celebrating what makes them unique.

Meet Breanne Harmon, President of the Chariton County Economic Development Corporation Board. A Brunswick R-II Business Education teacher, FBLA adviser, and volunteer president of the Missouri Business Educators Association, Breanne has called Chariton County home for the past 10 years.

Her passion for supporting rural businesses and entrepreneurs inspired her to join the CCEDC Board. She believes strong economic development is essential to keeping rural communities thriving and creating opportunities for future generations. She loves the incredible variety of locally owned businesses that make each of our communities unique and is especially excited to see young people choosing to return home to live, work, and invest in Chariton County’s future.

Breanne’s favorite local tradition is the Brunswick Pecan Festival. She loves seeing students contribute through window displays, parade floats, the marching band, business ventures, the annual t-shirt design, and the beloved pecan pie auction—showcasing the pride and talent of the next generation.

Happy Labor Day, Chariton County! We'd like to take this opportunity to reintroduce our organization. The Chariton County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC), established in 2014, is dedicated to launching and managing county-wide projects that support new and existing businesses and promote tourism in our north central Missouri county.

Discover Chariton promotes tourism via a website and social media campaign, while Develop Chariton aims to support new and existing businesses via an online business directory and educational resources. Both initiatives were developed by and are managed by the CCEDC.

The CCEDC is funded annually by the Chariton County Commission and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors from various communities across the county.

North & Trendy is looking for someone to join our team!

Our biggest need is someone who can help with afternoon coverage Wednesday–Friday until 6PM, approximately 3:00/3:15–6PM, plus some Saturdays!

This could be the perfect opportunity for a high school student looking for a few after-school hours each week — BUT we’re also open to someone looking for more hours! If you have daytime availability, longer shifts up to 11AM–6PM may be available.

We’re looking for someone who is dependable, friendly, comfortable working with customers, and willing to jump in wherever needed! Duties may include:
✨ Creating social media content
✨ Inventory + merchandising
✨ Assisting customers + styling
✨ Sales + checkout
✨ Light cleaning + organizing
