Good morning CRC family! It's Monday morning and I have another fun metal fact for you.
Magnesium is highly flammable and cannot be extinguished with just any methods. Water, foam, and carbon dioxide are ineffective. The fire either needs to continue to burn on its own or a special Class D fire extinguisher needs to be used. Using water will produce hydrogen gas and intensify the fire.
Due to this, we do not accept magnesium. We are open today and tomorrow from 9am - 4:30pm to assist with all your other metal needs.

Fun fact:
The softest metal is cesium, which has a Mohs rating of 0.2. This means it can be cut with a knife!
The hardest metal is chromium, which has a Mohs rate of 8.5. This makes it one of the most scratch-resistant metals.

Ready for today's fun fact, CRC family?
Stainless steel was discovered in 1913 by accident. Harry Brearley, a metallurgist, was developing corrosion-resistant gun barrels when he noticed a piece of steel remained rust-free after exposure to the elements.

It's cookout season! Make sure your guests know to separate their aluminum cans (beer cans, energy drink cans, soda pop cans, and more) from the rest of the trash. That way you can sell them to us. Please remember we only accept metal. Your glass and plastic bottles cannot be included in your bags of cans. We look forward to seeing you!
