A few days ago we had two tornadoes hit Hancock County.
If you got hit, don’t wait around on this stuff:
• Take pictures of everything now
• If your roof is damaged, get it tarped ASAP so it doesn’t get worse
• Don’t let it sit—if it gets worse, it can turn into a problem with your claim
• Keep every receipt
• Don’t throw anything away yet
We’ve also seen flooding and storm damage across LA, and TX.

For everyone across the Mississippi Gulf Coast dealing with flooding and water damage:
We're not making this post to advertise our business, and we certainly don't know what your insurance coverage looks like. We simply want to share a few things you should be doing right now that could help protect your property and your claim.
✅ Take A LOT of pictures and videos before you move anything. Document every room, every affected area, and any damaged personal property.
✅ Begin drying and cleaning up as soon as it's safe to do so. Take pictures of the mitigation process and save any receipts for supplies, equipment, or services.
✅ If your A/C system is still operational, keep it running. Removing moisture from the air can help reduce additional damage and mold growth.
✅ Contact a mitigation or cleaning contractor as soon as possible. If one isn't available, remove wet materials that cannot be dried in place and continue documenting everything with photos and videos.
Whether you have flood insurance or not, taking these steps can make a significant difference. If you do have coverage, this helps show that you took reasonable steps to protect the property and prevent further damage. If you don't have coverage, acting quickly may help limit the overall damage and repair costs.
Most importantly: document everything, save receipts, and don't wait to start mitigating damage.
