👩🏻‍⚕️Meet Michelle Leary, RN - Honoring Service, Providing Compassionate Care👩🏻‍⚕️

For Michelle, a Registered Nurse (RN), working at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King’s Ainsworth Hall is more than a job - it's a chance to make a difference.

After more than two years at King and a nursing career that began as a CNA, Michelle says, "Our Veterans, our wonderful staff, my coworkers... management's wonderful too," are what keep her here. She adds, "My coworkers have been wonderful. They're so helpful, welcoming... and we all work together as a team to help our Veterans."

Michelle encourages other nurses to consider a career at King, saying, "Working for our Veterans... it's just a different fulfillment of being in healthcare," and "you walk away knowing you made a difference and put a smile on a Veteran's face that they deserve."

Thank you, Michelle, for your dedication to our members and their spouses every day!

🍋🥧🌞 Uhhh, lemon dessert, anyone?? Last Thursday, Ainsworth Hall members enjoyed a special "Lemons & Sunshine" event! Our talented Dietary Department made a decadent spread of lemon desserts, lemon bars, lemon cheesecake, lemon pudding, and lemonade that the members thoroughly enjoyed! We had fun playing a “Can you match the fruit” game and listening to songs about sunshine! It was a beautiful morning!

👩🏻‍⚕️Cassy Olson, RN – Honoring Service, Providing Compassionate Care

Get to know Cassy Olson, a registered nurse who has been caring for members at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King for the past six years and has 17 years of nursing experience.

After beginning her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Cassy discovered her passion for long-term care and says she "just fell in love with it" after joining King. She finds her work especially rewarding because of the relationships she builds with members, sharing, "I feel comfortable with them… they trust me.”"

Cassy says the trust she has built with members makes every day meaningful, adding, "They look up to me for answers and for care." She says King is "unlike anywhere you've ever worked… it presents unique challenges and experiences you won’t find anywhere else."

For Cassy, caring for Wisconsin's Veterans is both a privilege and a career she plans to continue for years to come. She encourages anyone considering a nursing career here to embrace the opportunity: "It's an adventure that you'd be missing out on if you didn't do it."

At the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, we are proud to continue the tradition of compassionate care of our members modeled by RNs like Cassy.

😎🎸Members from Ainsworth Hall and Moses Hall at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King had a memorable time with The King! Our members were entertained by 'Elvis' John in the park, enjoying a lively evening of music, dance, and refreshments!

We enjoyed singing and rock ‘a hula’ dancing, a nod to Elvis Presley’s classic style, with the crowd moving to the beat and celebrating the fun, upbeat energy of the performance. Elvis John, known for his Elvis tribute shows, brought the spirit of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll to life, creating a festive atmosphere for the veterans, members, and staff!
