A big thank you to Never Muzzled for the donation of 2 pet oxygen mask kits! These will prove valuable if ever needed when rescuing pets from a fire!

We delivered Pet Oxygen Mask Kits to Kinsman today. They were greatly appreciated by our firefighters. Thank you to everyone who supported this fundraising event. Legacy Dog Rescue

A post a while in the making. Back at the beginning of the year we announced we received a grant from the Ohio State Fire Marshal in the amount just shy of $15,000 dollars. Well today the final hose was picked up to complete the spending of the grant!

Come on out this Saturday August 8th to see some of it for yourself!

Pictured:
-New Self Contained Breathing Apparatus Air tanks, which will help replace our aging out of date tanks
-1 battery powered SuperVac Positive pressure ventilation fan. Making now both our rescue and engine have the latest and safest in technology and replacing a gas powered fan
-1 (of 2) sections of suction hose. This replaces 1 section that failed last year and the second of which both were from 1998!
-31 (of 32) sections of various new hose for both hand lines and supplying water. This hose replacing aging hose lines that date back into the 1980s (some of which had holes), and allowing us to have enough hose to replace what is on our engines hand lines in the case we need to wash and dry them after a fire (which is a multi day process)

Not pictured:
-4 new helmets which allows us to update for some members and allow us to have extra for when new members join!

These grants (which are not a yearly guarantee) allow us to keep up with replacing equipment where township funding otherwise would not. Huge thank you to all of our vendors for the great support and Burghill Vernon Fire Department for allowing us to borrow a section of their suction hose for roughly 6 months while we figured out how to replace it, thankfully with this grant!

Recently, the Kinsman Vol. Fire Dept. have received 2 very helpful grants from the State Fire Marshals Office. The first was a training reimbursement grant worth $685 to recoup expenses from sending members through training in 2025.

The most recent grant is in the amount of $14,732.74! This very generous grant will allow us to replace old and aging hoses and equipment, while also keeping our firefighters as well as the community safe!
