2 spots left for our Teen Summer Intensive this Saturday, August 22!

The transition back to school can bring a lot with it. Academic pressure, changing friendships, social expectations, and the feeling of having to manage how you're seen.

This day gives high schoolers a chance to connect with others their age, build practical tools for navigating that pressure, and head into fall feeling a little more grounded and prepared.

Throughout the day, we'll use equine therapy, art and drama therapy, mindful movement, and plenty of time outside. And yes, we'll be painting the horses again! 🎨🐴

Saturday, August 22
9:00 AM–3:30 PM
Redmond, WA
$600 ¡ Sliding scale options available

We'd love to welcome two more teens to the group. Reach out today if you're interested or know someone who might be a good fit. 💙

Watch a child work through something difficult, and they rarely explain it with words.

They act it out. A stuffed animal gets the apology. A made-up game becomes a way to process something real. That's how children naturally make sense of their experiences.

Drama therapy builds on that same instinct. It offers teens and adults another way to make sense of their own experiences through creativity and expression, not just words.

As we grow up, we often feel like we should be able to explain everything. Sometimes healing happens more naturally through storytelling, movement, metaphor, imagination, or creative expression.

When paired with equine therapy, these approaches create another pathway for insight, emotional awareness, and growth.

We're proud to share that Ashton Eleazar has completed certification in Drama Therapy, bringing another evidence-informed approach to the work we offer at Unbridled Counseling.

Save the date for another Adult Summer Intensive August 15th ☀️

Our summer intensives are an opportunity to go a little deeper into your own journey—and to do that alongside others who are working toward something similar.

For many adults, that means reconnecting with yourself, exploring what matters most, and creating space to heal from the stress, burnout, anxiety, or life experiences that can quietly pull us away from who we are.

Join us for a day of equine therapy, creative arts, mindful movement, and meaningful connection in a small group setting.

Interested in joining us? Visit the link in our bio for details or email us to see if this intensive is the right fit for you.

Our Summer Intensives continue! ☀️

After an incredible response to this year's groups, we are offering another Teen Summer Intensive August 22nd!

Summer often creates a little more room than the rest of the year—a chance to slow down, connect, and build skills before the busyness of fall returns.

This intensive is designed for teens navigating anxiety, social pressure, perfectionism, or simply carrying more than others realize. Through equine therapy, creative arts, mindful movement, and connection with peers, they'll leave with practical tools and the reminder that they don't have to navigate it all alone.

To learn more or reserve a spot, visit the link in our bio or email us—we'd love to connect.

Last week's intensive centered around something many of us carry quietly: caregiver fatigue.

With the horses as our guides, we explored something deeper than exhaustion. We reflected on what it means to reconnect with our authentic selves and what gets in the way of showing up fully in our own lives.

We also rediscovered the importance of play. When we spend so much of ourselves caring for others, adding play back in can become a way to recharge.

One of the most meaningful parts of the day was painting on the horses. There's something about putting color on a horse's coat, with their calm presence beneath your hands, that helps express what can be difficult to put into words.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. 💙

Because of the incredible response, we're excited to offer two more intensives this summer on August 15 and August 22—one for adults and one for teens. More details are coming soon! If you're interested in attending, send us a message, email, or give us a call.

For many LGBTQ+ youth and teens, the world can feel exhausting to navigate. Anxiety, masking, bullying, identity exploration, social pressure, or fear of judgment can take a real toll on mental health.

And sometimes, sitting across from someone in an office can feel intimidating too.

That’s part of why experiential therapies like equine therapy, walk-and-talk sessions, or outdoor-based therapy can be so powerful.

Horses respond to authenticity, nervous system cues, and nonverbal communication. They create opportunities for connection, emotional awareness, confidence-building, and trust in ways that can feel more approachable for some adolescents.

Our goal is to create a space where young people feel supported as they are, without pressure to perform, explain everything perfectly, or fit into a box.

Every young person deserves care that helps them feel safe, seen, and connected.

Coming out doesn’t only happen in adolescence or early adulthood.

For many people, it can happen later in life, often after years of questioning, masking, navigating relationships, cultural expectations, or trying to make sense of feelings they didn’t always have language for.

And while coming out can bring relief and authenticity, it can also bring grief, fear, uncertainty, or major life transitions. There is no “right” timeline for becoming more fully yourself.

Therapy can offer support through identity exploration, relationship changes, family dynamics, anxiety, self-trust, and rebuilding a sense of safety within yourself.

You deserve care and support wherever you are in your journey.

Pride month can hold a lot of emotions. Relief. Grief. Celebration. Exhaustion. Pride. Fear. Joy.

And while so many conversations around mental health focus on surviving, we also want to make space for something else: thriving!

Q***r joy matters.
Feeling safe in your body matters.
Healthy relationships matter.
Community, laughter, identity, softness, confidence, and peace all matter too.

At Unbridled, we believe therapy should support the full human experience. It's not just getting through hard things, but helping people celebrate who they are, feel more connected to themselves, and live the life they want to build.

This Pride month and beyond, we’re proud to support LGBTQ+ clients with affirming, compassionate care.

60 Minutes covered it. We live it every day. 🐴

CBS News correspondent Lesley Stahl reported on how horses can sense and feel human emotions — and how that makes them uniquely powerful partners in healing for people with disabilities, veterans with PTSD, and beyond.

At Unbridled Counseling, equine-assisted therapy is woven into the core of how we work. Horses don’t let you perform okayness. They meet you where you actually are — and that’s where real change begins.

Meet our anxiety volleyball. 🏐

Each panel has a coping skill or reflective question — squeeze your muscles and then relax, “who is someone in your life you can count on?” — so instead of sitting across from a therapist talking about hard things, you’re tossing a ball, moving your body, and landing on a skill or talking point that meets you right where you are.

This is what therapy looks like at Unbridled. We don’t believe one size fits all — especially with kids. When we meet a young person where their interests are, the walls come down faster, the conversations go deeper, and the skills actually stick.

Movement, creativity, and genuine connection. That’s our approach.

If you have a kid who doesn’t exactly love the idea of “going to therapy,” we get it. We’d love to show them what it can actually look like.
