Meet Iris:
Iris N. Soto serves as Executive Administrative Assistant to the County Manager and Chief Operating Officer for the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners, with more than 30 years of distinguished administrative and executive support experience. Bilingual and widely respected for her discretion, work ethic, and steadfast dedication to others, Iris believes that public service begins with people — and with listening. Much of her impact has come quietly, behind the scenes, where her steady hand and careful attention have kept people, processes, and priorities moving forward.

Iris joined Osceola County Government in 1997 and steadily advanced through roles in Planning, Grants and Housing Administration, the Public Information Office, and the County Commission before stepping into her current executive role. In the nearly three decades of public service, she has helped Spanish-speaking families navigate housing and homeownership programs, supported Hurricane Maria recovery efforts and the County’s COVID-19 response, assisted families affected by the Pulse tragedy, participated in Emergency Operations Center activations, and lent her support to town halls and countless community initiatives — often working unseen to ensure things ran smoothly, even in the County’s most difficult moments.

Monica Medina is a Consumer Bank Market Manager with SouthState Bank, where she has dedicated more than 20 years to serving clients, developing teams, and building strong community relationships. A proud Hispanic leader, Monica is passionate about creating opportunities for others through mentorship, financial education, and community involvement. She serves as an Ambassador for the Osceola Chamber of Commerce and actively supports nonprofit organizations that strengthen and empower local families.
One of Monica's proudest achievements is building a successful career in banking while remaining deeply engaged in her community, helping individuals, families, and small businesses achieve their financial goals. We had a full house at today’s Hispanic Business Coalition meeting at Northbridge University - Kissimmee to hear from US Rep Darren Soto on workforce development. Thanks also goes to Kristen Arrington for Florida and Kissimmee Police Chief Charles Broadway for joining us, and to our attendees for asking some excellent questions!
