At an elevation of over 5300' our fire opal mine is already covered in white and shut down for the Winter. To think of all that fire under the ice has us really eager for next season. We're just getting started. :)

A bit of Pacific NW geologic news. Most of the mineral wealth of Oregon and Washington is a direct result of same geologic forces which made all the Cascade arc volcanoes (plate subduction).
Random Trivia: Only one single Cascade volcano has ever had a mining operation on the summit. Between 1929 and 1959 there were operations mining sulfur on the peak of Mount Adams, 35 miles East of St. Helens.
