If you contact us and need us to go through a national service provider, we simply will not do that. We are a small, local locksmith business right here in Klamath Falls, Oregon, and we believe in keeping things local and keeping things simple.

We are a one-locksmith operation, we are currently booked out at least two weeks in advance. So if you know you’re going to need locksmith services, I highly recommend giving us a call and getting on the schedule ahead of time.

Well, good afternoon, everyone! This is Nicky Foster coming at you with Klamath Basin Lock and Security with your locksmith tip of the day!

🚨 COMMUNITY, PLEASE BE AWARE! 🚨

When you’re searching for a locksmith, DO YOUR RESEARCH! Make sure the locksmith you choose is licensed, bonded, and insured, and verify that they have a valid CCB number.

There are a LOT of misleading locksmith websites and services out there. You’ll see names like “KeyMe,” “Locksmith KeyMe,” and kiosk services located inside places like Fred Meyer, Home Depot, and Walmart. These are self-service key kiosks—not local locksmiths.

I’ll include some examples in the pictures so you know what to look for.

⚠️ Please be careful when searching online for a locksmith! There are scammers out there who may ask for your credit card information over the phone and demand payment before any services are rendered. That should be a major red flag.

Nine times out of ten, we’re either on the phone with another customer or out on a service call, and we simply cannot come to the phone.

📵 Repeatedly calling will not get you a faster response. In fact, it can actually cause your call to get further backlogged while we’re trying to return everyone’s messages.

🔑 LOCKSMITH TIP OF THE DAY! 🔑

If you have a broken key fob but the electronics inside are still working, here’s a little money-saving tip: you can often order a replacement key-fob shell online and transfer the working internal components into the new shell. That can save you the cost of replacing and programming an entire key fob, as well as labor.

Another handy tip: If you have cam locks on your vehicle, truck bed, toolbox, or other equipment, many of them can be replaced by simply removing the nut on the back of the lock. Replacement cam locks are readily available, and you can often order multiple locks keyed alike, so one key can work for all your toolboxes and compartments. 🔐

Just make sure you’re ordering the correct size and style for your application. If you’re not sure, give us a call—we’re happy to point you in the right direction!

Today’s locksmith tip: If you’re locked out of your home, vehicle, or business, don’t automatically call the first locksmith you find online. Do your research! Make sure you’re dealing with a legitimate, locally owned locksmith—not a scammer, call center, or someone who may show up and charge you far more than you expected.

Ask questions, get an estimate when possible, and make sure you know who you’re inviting to your property.

A good locksmith’s goal is to get you back in with as little damage as possible. 🔐

⚠️ Be very leery when searching for a locksmith! Do your research BEFORE you call someone out to your home, vehicle, or business.

We are a locally owned small business, serving our community since October 9, 2025. We are licensed, bonded, and insured, and we hold our CCB license #258313 and a locksmith license.

There are a lot of companies and individuals out there advertising locksmith services, and unfortunately, there are also scammers. Make sure you verify who you’re hiring and that they are properly licensed, bonded, and insured.

🔑 And remember: Key kiosks, such as those found at Fred Meyer, Walmart, or Home Depot, are key-cutting kiosks. They can duplicate certain keys, but that is very different from having a professional locksmith available to diagnose lock problems, repair locks, perform lockouts, or provide other locksmith services.

📱 Before you need a locksmith, know who you’re going to call! Search their business, check their credentials, read reviews, and make sure you’re dealing with a legitimate local locksmith.
