This heat is tough on everyone and everything that has to be outside! This august our average nighttime temperature here in King county where this is located have been over 74 degrees while the daytime temperatures have consistently been above 102 degrees!

Water is extremely important for your livestock & wildlife during these extreme heat and drought conditions!

There are tons of options to help you with your water supply in your pastures when you are searching online! I always start with a few things to narrow down the scope and size of your project:
-
Budget: how much money are you wanting to spend. (What does that option add to your fixed or monthly expenses) for example do you have to get water hauled in or will you be paying electric bills, pump service calls etc.
-
Location: how’s that saying go “location, location, location”? This can have a lot of flexibility for where you want or need water.. needs more so than wants is what you would focus on when choosing the location. If other water sources are available nearby that may not be the area that you need water. This also ties into your cost and the time it takes to check that water source and the potential cost to service or bring water.

Schedule/monitoring: This is important for anyone who has a setup that doesn’t have a water supply line or well that pumps into it. Cell Game cameras are a great way to see what your water levels are and also to check what wildlife and livestock are coming into the water!
