This vibrant crushed metal work by American Abstract Expressionist sculptor John Chamberlain is another highlight of Case's Summer 2026 Auction! It is signed signed lower right and measures just under 40 inches wide. A printed impression taken from this printing plate/sculpture,is also featured in the sale.

Case's Aug. 1 & 2 Summer Auction includes this exceptional, and large, Cades Cove landscape by Tennessee artist Joanna Higgs Ross. Ross, who passed away last November at the age of 91, was a member of the Knoxville 7 and the first woman to graduate from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She taught at Lambuth College in Jackson for over 20 years as the institution's only art professor. The auction will feature artwork from throughout Ross's long career, so stay tuned!

An important, exhibited Newcomb art pottery “Daffodil Vase,” circa 1897, will feature in Case's Aug. 1 & 2 Summer Auction!

This early vase, thrown by Joseph Meyer, is thought to have possibly been decorated by painter Katherine Kopman. This vase was the cover object for the 2013 traveling exhibition, WOMEN, ART & SOCIAL CHANGE: THE NEWCOMB POTTERY ENTERPRISE, which debuted at the Newcomb Art Gallery, New Orleans, in 2013.
