Labor Day weekend is here! 🇺🇸
The river looks amazing this morning out the back deck of the shop!!

Whether you’re heading to the dove field, setting up goose decoys, fishing in the catfish contest on the Delaware River or checking trail cameras, we hope you find time to get outdoors and enjoy it.

We’ll be spending most of our weekend here continuing to work on the new Hunted Dreams Outfitters location and getting one step closer to welcoming everyone through the doors. I’ll also be visiting the catfish contest at Riverside on Saturday evening for the start of the event.

We are Hunted Dreams Outfitters & Taxidermy, and we’re here to help every step of the way—from preparing for the hunt to preserving the memories afterward.

With dove season underway, we put together this map showing the managed dove fields located throughout Eastern Pennsylvania. These public fields are maintained by the Pennsylvania Game Commission and planted or managed specifically to attract doves.

The map includes each location’s approximate acreage, plantings, habitat features, and distance from Portland. Save it, share it with your hunting partners, and always check the current Game Commission information and scout the field before traveling.

Time for a little upgrade!

We’ve got a brand-new tanning tank in the shop and it’s officially getting its first workout. We’ll be upgrading the size and capacity of a lot of our equipment as we get settled into the new shop and continue growing.

First up for the new tank—rehydrating some bears and getting them ready for tanning!

Little by little, we’re getting the new shop set up to handle more work and keep things moving efficiently. 🐻💪

Our Pro Staff Lucas was out today in NJ putting in some work and getting one of his spots dialed in for the season! 🦌

He’s using Rack-Getter Scents & Lures— products we’ll have available at the new Hunted Dreams Outfitters shop.

Lucas has been part of our Pro Staff for quite some time, and there’s a reason we pay attention when he’s setting up a spot. He consistently gets multiple nice bucks on the ground year after year. When someone produces results like that, we like to watch, learn, and see what he’s doing differently.

I have to apologize—I put a post on here this morning and then went completely MIA!

I had some extra help today, so we took advantage of it and gave the first-floor exterior a much-needed facelift. There are still a few little things here and there to finish up, but the front is really starting to come together!

I think it looks pretty darn good… but maybe I’m a little biased. 😂

Something hit me this morning while I was out trying to buy paint.

As I go into different businesses, I notice how quickly my attitude can change based on the experience I have there. It made me stop and think about the people who walk through our doors.

Everybody comes in with a problem to solve.

Sometimes it’s a good problem — you finally got that buck you’ve been chasing and need to get him mounted. Sometimes you’re like me this morning — the colorblind guy standing in the paint aisle trying to figure out what shade of green he’s looking at. Or brown or red🤷‍♂️. 😂

Big or small, life is made up of experiences, and we remember how people made us feel during them. Don’t be the useless paint guy at Lowes this morning that I had to go to customer service and make them make him help. 😡

That’s not how I want customers to feel when they leave here.
Of course, every day our goal is to produce great taxidermy work. And as we grow the business, we want to offer great products and services too. But I think my biggest goal for this whole business is actually much simpler:

I want us to be helpful.

Maybe you walk in with something we can solve today. Maybe you have a goal that’s going to take a year. Maybe you just need somebody to point you in the right direction.

Whatever it is, I want people to leave here feeling like we genuinely tried to help.

We don’t have to have every answer. We don’t have to sell you something every time you walk through the door.

We just want everybody to succeed — or at least enjoy trying.

That’s the kind of business I want Hunted Dreams to be.
