Living Sport is looking for 3-5 enthusiastic students to assist in facilitation of our Kickoff Tailgate Tournament that will take place in Kutztown on September 9th and 10th. The Kickoff Tailgate Tournament is celebrating the start of the long awaited NFL season and will serve as a fundraiser for the 501c3, Living Sport Foundation. The mission of the foundation is to provide educational opportunities to current college students and/or recent graduates to support personal and professional growth through sport.

This tournament will be played with the newest tailgate game on the market, QB54. Picture a football version of Ladder Golf or Co****le with the goal to throw the football in the touchdown target and subsequently kick a field goal through the uprights to score points. The first team to 54 wins!

The students who will help Living Sport with this fundraiser will receive the opportunity to work alongside Living Sport Founder Alicia Marinelli, and KU Sport Management alum, Connor Herlihy. In the days leading up to the tournament students will assist in team recruitment efforts via a campaign that includes word of mouth and social media outreach. Students will also help facilitate the tournament logistics on September 9th and 10th in Kutztown from approximately 5PM to 7:30PM each night.

In a time when live events are hard to come by, we hope to give a few students that want to be a part of this the chance to get hands-on experience for their resume.

We realize this is a quick turn around but if I learned anything is my sport business career, is that opportunity comes when you least expect it and aren't necessarily ready for it.

A big shout out Abt! A proud KU sport management alum who returned today to share his ABTsolute success story as an entrepreneur. Mr. Abt is the owner of ABTsolute Training system, an all-inclusive high-performance training facility. He is a dedicated hard worker, who leads by example! Thank you for paving the way for students interested in fitness, for those who wish to be entrepreneurs, for making a difference, and being an inspirational role model for our students. Another successful guest speaker series today thanks to Mr. Henderson@Washington Nationals! Students very much enjoyed your entertaining and insightful presentation. Certainly, not everyone is comfortable and many do in fact have fear of selling. But today you inspired our students and changed their perception of sales! Your comments and tips were very timely for senior students who are looking for sport jobs during this difficult time. I believe students can benefit immediately from your remarks on professionalism. Thank you Lineman for taking the time to speak to our students on sport sales process. it is very interesting to hear about your sales experience in NFL. Your stories about career development in the sport industry were fascinating. The presentation about how to differentiate your product and yourself is very useful.
