Alex got a picture of this cool rainbow in the sky today, even though there was no rain!
Here's a good description from the weather page:
This is called a "fire rainbow", or more scientifically - a "circumhorizontal arc".
They occur when the sun is high in the sky and the sunlight gets refracted through tiny ice crystals in the high altitude, wispy cirrus clouds that you can see in the photo.βοΈπ
