Growing Wedding Industry Brings Northern New York Businesses Together for North Country Wedding Expo
WATERTOWN, N.Y. โ As more couples continue planning weddings across Northern New York, local wedding professionals are seeing steady demand for venues, photographers, transportation, beauty services, rentals, travel planning, and other wedding-related businesses. This fall, many of those businesses will come together under one roof during the North Country Wedding Expo, offering couples an opportunity to connect with local experts while highlighting the strength of the regionโs wedding industry.
The North Country Wedding Expo will take place on Sunday, November 8, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Venue Travertine in Watertown. Admission is free, and registration is now open at www.nocoexpos.com.
More than 20 local businesses are expected to participate, representing a wide variety of wedding services. From the moment a couple becomes engaged until they leave for their honeymoon, nearly every aspect of wedding planning relies on local businesses working together to create memorable experiences.
โThe wedding industry is much more than one special day,โ said Chris Thurston, organizer of the North Country Wedding Expo. โIt supports dozens of small businesses throughout our community and brings together professionals who are passionate about helping couples celebrate one of the biggest milestones in their lives.โ
The expo is designed to make wedding planning easier by giving couples the opportunity to meet multiple vendors in one location, compare services, ask questions, and gather ideas for their upcoming celebrations. Whether planning an intimate ceremony or a large wedding, attendees can connect directly with experienced professionals while discovering new trends and services available throughout Northern New York.
โPlanning a wedding can feel overwhelming,โ Thurston said. โOur goal with the North Country Wedding Expo is to bring trusted local professionals together in one place so couples can meet face-to-face, ask questions, and leave feeling excited about planning their big day. Weโre proud to showcase the incredible wedding talent we have right here in Northern New York.โ
A few of the participating businesses include Venue Travertine, Royal Flush Rentals, Hale Transportation, Bend Photography, and Alicia Hollenbeck, Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant, with additional vendors continuing to join the event in the coming months.
In addition to meeting local professionals, attendees will have the opportunity to enter for a $2,000 honeymoon giveaway, helping one fortunate couple begin the next chapter of their journey together.
Beyond providing inspiration for engaged couples, the event also reflects the economic impact of weddings throughout the North Country. Wedding celebrations support a broad network of local businesses, including caterers, florists, photographers, transportation providers, DJs, salons, bakeries, rental companies, hotels, jewelers, travel advisors, and event venues. By choosing local businesses, couples help strengthen the regional economy while building lasting relationships with professionals who understand the community.
The North Country Wedding Expo welcomes newly engaged couples, families, members of wedding parties, and anyone beginning the planning process. Organizers hope the event will not only simplify wedding planning but also encourage residents to discover the talented professionals who call Northern New York home.
