We are experiencing an outage. The cause has not been determined.

Apparently this was scheduled maintenance by ZAYO, our fiber provider. They had to take fiber systems offline in Star, ID for scheduled maintenance. We have to accept responsibility for overlooking the warning notification - it got buried in out email. The outage was unavoidable but the lack of warning WAS avoidable. We deeply regret not warning our loyal subscribers about this planned outage.

Oregon Wireless is Hiring: Installer / IT Field Technician
We’re looking for a reliable, technically capable installer to join our team and help expand and maintain Internet service for our local customers.
Job Overview:
This is a hands-on field position. You’ll be installing antennas, running Ethernet cables, configuring routers, and troubleshooting Internet issues at customer locations. You'll need to be comfortable working on rooftops and ladders, in attics and crawlspaces, and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install and align antennas, dishes, and mounting hardware
• Run, test, and weatherproof Ethernet cabling
• Configure customer routers and wireless networks
• Diagnose and resolve connection issues
• Maintain clear documentation and communicate with the team
• Treat customers and their property with professionalism and respect
Requirements:
• Mechanically and digitally inclined
• Able to safely use ladders and power tools
• Comfortable in attics, crawlspaces, and on roofs
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Good communication, documentation, and time management
• Patience and professionalism in challenging environments
Experience is a plus but not required. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn are what matter most.

OTEC will be upgrading their power line on Mt. Harris this morning. Our subscribers should be unaffected; the Oregon Wireless eqipment can run on our battery backup system for several hours. Just an FYI (hopefully).

We've been able to get half of our subscriber traffic rerouted. Unfortunately, we won't be able to get the Elgin traffic rerouted. We have no option but to wait for (LS networks) to repair their damaged fiber bundle.

We are attempting to reroute our traffic around the fiber break. ETA 2 hours.

Apparently the wind storm the other day caused the LSN fiber to droop across the railroad tracks along Hwy 82. Then an hour ago a train came by and took the fiber down. We regret this inconvenience very much. Technicians are headed that way to splice the fiber and get it back up in the air.

It appears that VERY HEAVY snow in the area interrupted the radio signals for about 40 minutes. That's never happened before.

We are experiencing an outage at Alicel. It appears to be a power issue (but it's not OTEC). This is also affecting our north valley facility. Technicians are investigating the problem. We regret this inconvenience very much.
