Waldorf volunteers responded to a gas leak in the area of Irongate Drive and Industrial Park Drive in Waldorf.

Upon arrival, Engine #33 confirmed a 3 inch gas line was ruptured by a contractor on the scene and requested the hazmat resources to assist.

Washington Gas Company on the scene, nearby buildings were evacuated as a precaution.

Command was established by Battalion Chief 3B Mills, E33 and Tower #3 reporting “meter readings indicate all within normal limits”.

Command scaled the incident back to Company #3 units

At 4:10 AM this morning, staff at the Green Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center notified the 911 center of a fire reported in the rear of the building and on the roof. Command Chief 1B reports fire is out, smoke conditions throughout third floor, numerous residents being evacuated and evaluated by the EMS task force

No residents or staff in any danger, all accounted for

Fire/EMS continue removing smoke, all occupants are safe and sound

Battery has been safely disconnected, no injuries reported
