At , we conducted several missions alongside NATO allies and partners, including sonobuoy deployment from Firefly.

Using a deployment mechanism developed in-house by the PFT team, Firefly carried four Size G sonobuoys, autonomously deploying all four at pre-positioned waypoints during a single flight.

With launch and recovery from a Portuguese Navy OPV and a 76.5 lb takeoff payload, Firefly flew for 44 minutes, covering 16 km over the course of the mission — giving our team valuable experience operating in a maritime environment.

That’s a wrap on our first in Portugal!

Our team had a very successful few weeks putting through a range of maritime operations alongside NATO partners.

We completed BVLOS operations, ship-based takeoffs and landings, multi-payload missions, and flights in winds up to 20 kts — while demonstrating Firefly across several different mission sets.

A lot accomplished, and some pretty cool footage to share over the next few weeks. Stay tuned!

A great week at CUAV in Las Vegas for our team — having some awesome conversations about Firefly and where its capabilities can fill gaps for operators.

We also got more than a few variations of, “holy s**t, that’s the biggest drone here.” 😅

Always great to see what’s new, hear what people are working on, and keep a pulse on where the industry is headed.

has received FCC Conditional Approval — making it the first Group 3 UAS to receive this approval.

With up to 100 lbs. of payload capacity, multi-hour endurance, and mobile power generation, Firefly brings heavy-lift capability to missions where traditional all-electric UAS fall short.

This clears the way for U.S. sales and deployment of Firefly, marking an important step forward as we bring the platform to operators across defense, public safety, and commercial markets.

Heavy lift. Long endurance. Power where you need it.

Come meet the team — and Firefly — at Commercial UAV Expo.

Built for missions where traditional all-electric UAS fall short, Firefly delivers 100 lbs of payload for 1.4 hours, with onboard power generation for applications spanning logistics, remote sensing, infrastructure, emergency response, and more.

Putting Firefly through its paces at sea.

This week, Firefly practiced shipboard takeoff and landing sequences off the coast of Santa Barbara. How’s that for some Friday fun?

The flights come just ahead of packing up and heading to Portugal for REPMUS, where Firefly will take on several different maritime mission sets alongside NATO and allied partners.

As we continue advancing Firefly for maritime operations, we’re working toward precision takeoff and landing within a 4m x 4m area and operations up to Sea State 3 — expanding the range of vessels and conditions where Firefly can go to work.

Next stop: Portugal

Today, the office looked like this.

Not a bad backdrop for another day of flight testing - this time to validate a new payload deployment capability. Always fun when months of engineering finally get to leave the ground.

For 250 years, innovation has pushed boundaries and solved hard problems. We’re proud to carry that spirit forward by building American-made autonomous aircraft for the missions that matter.

Happy 4th of July from the team at Parallel Flight Technologies!
