We recently held our CES Company Picnic at our facility in Lacombe. What a great event!
The President of CES, Gus Bordelon, recognized and thanked all employees in attendance, as well as their immediate family, for being part of TEAM CES.
There was one very special presentation that brought smiles, even some tears of happiness, to everyone in attendance. Gus recognized Mr. Bennie Smith for his many years of dedicated and loyal service.
Many people know Mr. Bennie. But in case you donβt, Mr. Bennie is a legend in our industry. He is known very well across the Region, especially here in St. Tammany Parish. He resides in Slidell. He has been in the business for over 28 years. He started as a hopper dumping trash into the back of trucks. But during that time he also worked on getting his CDL. After getting his CDL, Bennie began his career in Driving garbage trucks. He has driven rear load trucks, commercial trucks, Boom trucks, ASL trucks, Johnny Pots Vacuum trucks, you name it, he has driven them all. But thatβs not it, Mr. Bennie has also been a trainer! He has trained a majority of the drivers we have at CES. He has also mentored many of our Team members such as Drivers, Hoppers, Mechanics, Transfer Station employees, etc! Everyone has respect, admiration, and love for Mr. Bennie!
What some may not know is that Mr. Bennie is a Veteran. He served in the United States Army as a paratrooper! We thank him for his service!
To recognize Mr. Bennie, the legend in our industry, and to make sure everyone knows his importance to everyone at CES, Gus surprised Mr. Bennie with having the street leading into our facility named - βBENNIE SMITH LANEβ.
Please join us in congratulating Mr. Bennie on his over 28 years of service in the business as well as thanking him for his service to our country!
Thank you Mr. Bennie! We love you!!
