A quick update from Northcentral Recyclers!

We’ve had a few folks wander into the front office at the Enterprise Center lately, so here’s a friendly reminder: 𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝘂𝘀𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺.
They’re busy keeping the whole county moving, and we’d really like to keep their lobby peaceful — and free of surprise questions about where to put your 1998 inkjet printer that hasn’t printed since the Bush administration.

𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿.
If you find yourself at a desk talking to someone who looks very confused about recycling, you’re in the wrong spot. If you find yourself staring at an overhead door with our 4ftx8ft banner next to it — you’re in the right spot.

𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽‑𝗼𝗳𝗳𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 (depending on how much and what you have), 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.
We’re running a very small crew right now, and depending on the day, we might be out on a pickup, on a scrap run, or briefly away from the building. Reaching out first makes sure someone is actually here to help (and saves you from playing “Where’s Waldo: Recycling Edition,” which nobody has ever won).

📢 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘁!
We’re now at 𝟭𝟭𝟬𝟭 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘁 𝗥𝗱, 𝗦𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝟭𝟮𝟬, 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝘆𝘀𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗵 inside the 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 — home to Rusk County Transit, Barefoot Painter, and us trying very hard not to rearrange the same shelf for the fourth time.

We’re in the final stretch of our 𝗗𝗡𝗥 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, which means we’re very close to reopening for electronics recycling.
Just so everyone’s on the same page:
𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗦 𝗬𝗘𝗧.

And a quick, kind reminder from your local recyclers:
𝗡𝗼 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽‑𝗼𝗳𝗳𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿.
𝗪𝗲 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗮 “𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝘀𝗵” 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁.
𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲, mostly to make sure we don’t come in one morning to find a surprise electronics welcome party waiting for us.

If you need to recycle something sooner, the 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟮 near Tony at the railyard is a great option.

Please save it somewhere safe — preferably not on a sticky note that will fall behind your fridge in 48 hours.

We’re basically out of Glen Flora, but we are still not collecting items yet.
Yes, we see you clutching that dusty DVD player. No, not yet. Put it down.

👉 Do not bug the new owner in Glen Flora.
👉 Do not drop anything off there.
👉 Do not treat the old building like a feral electronics dumping ground.

New location announcement coming soon. Stay tuned — the plot thickens.

Big news: we’re packing up our Glen Flora shop and migrating to Ladysmith.
Where in Ladysmith? That’s top‑secret information for now. You’ll find out eventually… probably.

One tiny detail: we won’t be collecting electronics for a bit while we haul, shuffle, reorganize, and attempt to Tetris our entire operation into a new (and let’s be honest, *cozier*) space. How long will that take? We aren't quite sure yet. However we WILL still be collecting from certain businesses and such, don't be afraid to send us a message to find out more!

But don’t worry — your haunted electronics, mystery cords, and emotionally unstable printers will have a new home soon enough.
Clues are coming. Chaos is coming. The grand reopening will come…

Hey everyone! We wanted to give you a quick update. The building that we currently lease is in the process of being purchased by someone else, and while we sort out what our future space will look like we need to temporarily pause electronics drop‑offs from the public.

This is not a shutdown — just a short break while we make sure we have the right setup to keep serving you safely and efficiently. We’re still here, still operating, and still committed to responsible electronics recycling.

We’ll share updates as soon as we know more. Thank you for your patience and for supporting a cleaner, greener community!

We accept Li-ion & Ni-MH batteries at no charge! Alkakine batteries can go in your normal trash according to the DNR. And we are currently not taking Ni-Cad or button batteries (lithium primary) but those should be taped up so they can't get shorted out and possibly cause a fire, then save them for the next Cleansweep event in your area (charges may apply).

When you’re cleaning up after the holidays, make sure rechargeable batteries and electronics don’t go in your trash or recycling bin.

Many rechargeable batteries, especially lithium-ion, can spark when damaged. This causes fires in garbage trucks, at recycling facilities or at landfills. In 2023, fires heavily damaged three Wisconsin recycling facilities. There are also dozens of smaller fires each month, like this one at Outagamie County's recycling facility. You can help prevent future fires by taking your electronics and batteries to drop-off recycling sites.

We'll recycle those old Christmas lights for you!

Don’t know what to do with old, broken or burned-out strings of lights?

There are several recycling programs that will put the copper in light strings back to good use. Check with your local municipal recycling program to see if they accept them at a drop-off location. Some local scrap metal dealers may take them as well.

As a rule, holiday lights don’t belong in your curbside recycling bin because they can tangle up recycling equipment.
