We are proud to recognize one of Lafayette's finest, LPD Detective Kurt Sinks. The Lafayette Police Civil Service Commission has honored Detective Sinks with the Bronze Merit Award for his exceptional work in two complex child molestation investigations from 2024.

In both cases, Detective Sinks utilized his empathetic and skilled interviewing techniques to obtain detailed confessions from the suspects, who are now awaiting trial. His success rate in obtaining confessions, particularly in challenging cases, is remarkably high, exceeding national averages.

Beyond his technical skills, Detective Sinks demonstrates a deep commitment to victims, providing them with a voice and restoring their hope in justice. His work has brought closure to individuals who have suffered their pain for decades. His dedication and skill in these investigations exemplify the highest standards of the Lafayette Police Department and warrant the recognition of the Bronze Merit Award.

On a personal note, Kurt conducts himself with humility and a sincere positive attitude.
