👏 Big Win in Georgia
GE Appliances just wrapped a $180 million expansion at our Roper Corporation cooking plant in LaFayette, GA—bringing our total U.S. manufacturing investment to $3.5 billion since 2016 – more than any other competitor.
This investment includes an additional $60 million above the previously announced total in 2023.
💡 Why it matters: This milestone advances our commitment to zero distance and U.S. manufacturing, and with our modernized plants, it positions us to be more competitive.
🏭 What’s happened at Roper over the past two years:
600+ new jobs added
Robotics use tripled for efficiency and ergonomics
New flexible lines that can produce gas, electric, and induction ranges
Launched many new products including the new GE Profile™ induction range
Enhanced workforce training on robotics in partnerships with Georgia Northwestern Technical College
📣 In their words:
“At GE Appliances, we’re investing in American manufacturing—right here in Georgia,” said Luther Ingram, Executive Director and Plant Manager, Roper Corporation. “By combining advanced automation with the skills and dedication of our local team, we’re creating high-quality jobs, launching breakthrough products, and ensuring that ‘Georgia Made’ ranges are being shipped to homes across the country.”
“Investments by manufacturers such as GE Appliances at Roper Corporation are a major reason why Georgia boasts a gross regional product (GRP) of $678.2 billion, the 8th highest among U.S. states,” said Lloyd Avram, President and CEO, Georgia Association of Manufacturers. “Georgia’s manufacturing sector, employing 426,940 production workers, is responsible for $77 billion of that output.”
🎉 Applause-worthy:
A huge shoutout to the entire Cooking team, led by VP Henry Eng, and the Roper team, led by Luther Ingram, for their exceptional leadership, teamwork, and ex*****on, and for all the platforms who supported this massive launch from Advanced Manufacturing Engineering to Technology to Sourcing and more!
