• Change
• No Thanks, I like the way I am
This Change Chart grabs you right away. Change may be good for us, even though we resist change.
Most people like the first snowfall, the first kiss, the first "You did a grewt job". Yet, its too easy avoid making changes, even when it benefits us down the road.
Guess what...It sure is easy to talk about others needing to change. I remember a story of a guy who really wanted to make a big change in his life.
He wanted to get up early every morning! You know what he did...he signed up for a two week US Army course and forced himself to get up early. Interestingly, he still does it. That two weeks help him cement a daily habit into his life.
Change is not that hard. You can change IF YOU WANT TO. So how do you know if you want to change? Examine these:
1. Realize that by doing the same things over and over again your results will never change.
2. Motivation lacks, other than being entertained (Facebook, video, talking to friends, escaping, etc)
3. Your good friends (or parents) suggest an alternative path of action for you....they see you wasting away.
If something in these three steps hit you between the eyes, try this:
A. Discover something important that you really want to do
B. Write down this important thing to you in a goal statement, like "I see myself climbing Mt Whitney by June 30, 2025."
C. Find a buddy that will help you do it by holding you Accountable for achieving your goal.
D. Write down all the obstacles to getting it done.
E. Now write up your plan to overcome each obstacle, give it to your accountability buddy, and follow your plan.
Simple - Yes
Does it work - Yes
How do you know it will work - Successful people have someone in their life that they are accountable to.
Be Successful - Change !
