The Wild West is long gone, but a friend welded metal together and created this magnificent scene.

Art is strange...one is tasteful, the next...not.

It's new owner has it planted in the front of his ranch, so all passing by might grab a memory of days gone by.

Smokey the Bear is lovable with a profound message. He tickles your heart while encouraging us to protect our forests.

The story of Smokey becoming a legend goes back to a bear cub rescued from a horrific fire in New Mexico in the 1950's.

The saying "Only YOU can prevent Wildfires" got little traction until the Forest Service leveraged Smokey as an affable character delivering a precise message.

It seems that good marketing blends "good feelings" with precise messaging. Chances are you are as familiar with Smokey, as are your kids !

Amazing sunsets offer pleasant memories.

A trail of memories (good & bad) follow each of us around.

If you want to create better memories, try this:

• Refuse yourself to disagree

People remember that you found fault with them.

• Smile - a smile breaks barriers. Marilyn Monroe was reputed to have said that "a Smile is a girls best friend".

• Listen - they are sharing with you...be respectful and pay attention.

• Summarize - what they said is important (to them). Show you paid attention by summing up what they told you...they will appreciate you doing so.

Simple...Effective...Encouraging

Go Gettum !
