“Medicare will pay for radiation. Will it pay to know who needs it?”

A new Forbes article examines a critical issue facing women with DCIS. Medicare contractors are considering eliminating coverage for DCISionRT®, a test that helps patients and physicians determine who is more likely to benefit from radiation therapy.

This isn’t about avoiding unnecessary treatment. It’s about helping women get the right treatment.

In a study of more than 2,000 women, DCISionRT changed physicians’ radiation recommendations 38% of the time, both reducing recommendations for some patients and increasing them for others who may benefit from treatment.

If Medicare coverage is eliminated, access to this information could increasingly depend on a patient’s ability to pay out of pocket.

At PreludeDx, we believe every woman deserves access to the information she and her physician need to make an informed, personalized treatment decision.
