The Power of Eliminating the word "Try" from your vocabulary.
👉The word "try" is often regarded as a subtle inhibitor, creating a sense of uncertainty and leaving room for doubt. When we use the word "try," we subconsciously open ourselves to the possibility of failure. By eliminating this word from our vocabulary, both speaking and thinking, we can shift our mindset towards a more proactive and determined approach. Instead of merely "trying," we can focus on taking decisive action and committing ourselves 100 % fully to the tasks at hand. For example, if I put a pencil on the table in front of you and ask you to try to pick it up, it won't get picked up. If it isn't picked up, it means you've tried to pick it up. If it's picked up, you didn't try, you picked it up.
💪The elimination of "try" encourages a growth-oriented mindset. Rather than accepting the possibility of failure or doubt, we embrace the potential for growth and improvement. By replacing "try" with more affirmative phrases like "I will" or "I am committed to," we send a strong message to ourselves and others about our determination and dedication. This shift in language can have a profound impact on our motivation, as it reinforces our belief in our own capabilities and strengthens our resolve to overcome challenges.
🏃The elimination of "try" also promotes a culture of accountability toward ourselves and others. When someone tells me, "I'll try to give you a call tomorrow", the call usually doesn't come. When someone tells me, "I'm commited to give you a call tomorrow", the call usually comes. When we commit ourselves to specific actions instead of merely "trying," we hold ourselves responsible for the outcomes. This shift in language cultivates a sense of ownership and empowers us to take control of our lives. By eliminating the word "try," we create a more decisive and action-oriented environment, where progress and success become the norm.
😀So let us banish "try" from our vocabulary and embrace a language that reflects our determination, ambition, and unwavering commitment to achieving our goals. Get conscious to your thoughts and conversations, and when the word try enters into your thoughts or conversations replace it with a commited, forward movement statement, and take actions on that statement. You'll see a marked improvement in the results you create, and the way you feel as you're working toward those results.
