So enlightening.
Hillary Clinton responded to Vice President JD Vance's dismissal of Watergate with a two-part rebuke, sharp, personal, and historically grounded. First, she noted that Vance may not know the history because it is in one of the books his administration has banned. Then she drew the line that no one else had so precisely: the actual difference between Watergate and today is that Republican lawmakers in 1974 chose accountability over loyalty, walking to the White House to tell Nixon his time was up. Today's Republicans, she wrote, only roll over for their cult leader. Vance had called it "crazy" that Watergate brought down a presidency, speaking at the Nixon Library while promoting his new book.
