Today, Lake Arthur Fire Department responded to the area of East Jackson Road and State Road 2 in reference to a large grass fire. The first arriving units immediately request mutual aid from surrounding departments due to the size of the fire and the fuel load it was burning in. We would like to thank the endless help and support from our neighboring departments. Dexter Fire & Rescue, Midway Fire and EMS, Eddy County Fire & Rescue, Chaves County District 8 Fire, Sierra Volunteer Fire Department, Pecos Valley District BLM, State Forestry Division, and all Law Enforcement agencies that assisted with road closers.

We would like to thank everyone that came out tonight and brought holiday spirit to our little community. It was a great turn out and we are excited for next year. Thank you to the Panther Parents from Lake Arthur Municipal Schools for serving Posole and making luminarias with the kiddos. We would also like to thank Pecos Valley Equipment for donating the use of the tractor for the hayrides. Huge shout out to all the volunteers that helped out and made this event possible. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Thursday evening we hosted an auto extraction training and it was a great success. We would like to thank Brian Bird with Curtis - Tools for Heroes for coming up and training us and letting us demo the HURST E3 tools. Would also like to thank Berrendo Fire Dept, Dexter Fire & Rescue, Sierra Volunteer Fire Department, and District 8 Volunteer Fire Department for taking their time and coming out to training with us.
