Hey No Limit Networking!

If it’s been a while since you’ve made it out to an NLN event, June is the perfect month to jump back in.

We’re kicking things off with No Limit After Hours on Tuesday, June 9th at Area 337 from 6PM–9PM. Great atmosphere, great people, and a great chance to make some new connections.

Then on Tuesday, June 16th, we’re trying something new with our first ever No Limit Coffee Networking at Stellar Beans from 7:30AM–9AM. A more laid-back morning meetup to connect, collaborate, and start the day strong.

Looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting some new ones too.

As some know, I am a chronic volunteer with a passion for helping Lake Charles area small businesses, US military veterans, raising awareness about cybersecurity and fraud issues, as well as helping others with their cybersecurity professional development by hosting annual cybersecurity conferences and monthly meetups. Because of my passion for those things I have over extended myself by taking on all of the following paid and unpaid volunteer roles:

Cybersecurity Manager, Bollinger Shipyards (full time employment)

Commander, Louisiana State Guard Cyber Reserve Team. (Part-time employee for the State of Louisiana)

Community Outreach Coordinator for all veterans Mardi Gras Krewe called Krewe de Valhalla (SWLA NPO)

Membership committee chair for Lake Charles Mayors Armed Forces Committee (unpaid Lake Charles City Gov role)

Mentor, 14th JDC Veterans Specialty Court

I do my best to give adequate time to all my unpaid volunteer roles but recently my paid roles are giving me increased responsibility so I am unable to give anything more to No Limit Networking. I apologize.

No Limit Networking is a great concept around inclusiveness that I love, it just needs the right leadership team in place who will create content, host events, and get people engaged. I am not the guy anymore.

Hey everyone. JTan the Cybersecurity Man here.

Sorry I haven’t held an event in a while. Working at Fort Polk and dealing with that 90 minute one way commute the past 7 months has been difficult.

But I am excited to report I have a new job working from home again and should be able to be more organized with No Limit Networking moving forward.

For our first event of 2026, I am excited to report that my friend, Melissa Buxton, has agreed to open her store, Bux Kajun Korner, for us at 6pm the night of Thursday, January 29th. She has tons of Louisiana and Mardi Gras themed items for your home and she is a big supporter of US military veterans and No Limit Networking. So I’m excited for her to be able to showcase her store for us all.
