Congratulations Freddie Harrison
Councilman Dr. Freddie Harrison Honored as “Unsung Hero” at MLK Day Breakfast in Lake Charles today.
Dr. Harrison is an educator, school administrator, and public servant with more than 28 years of experience across private, public, and charter education systems. He currently serves as Principal of Lake Charles College Prep, where his leadership has driven sustained academic growth through a strong emphasis on instructional excellence, effective organizational systems, and a culture built on preparation and accountability.
A graduate of Westlake High School, Dr. Harrison earned his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern State University, his master’s degree from Louisiana College, and his doctorate from the University of La Verne. He is also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and a dedicated member of the Westlake City Council, reflecting his deep commitment to education and civic leadership.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Harrison is a devoted father of five and a proud grandfather. His work is defined by thoughtful, data‑informed decision‑making and a belief that preparation, discipline, and trust are essential to lasting academic and community success.
Dr. Harrison does not chase popularity—he chases progress.
He does not confuse noise with impact.
He believes alignment beats resistance, discipline outlasts motivation, and leadership is proven when results show up long after the leader leaves the room.
