MEET OUR SPEAKERS! Mike Hornsby is a Cybersecurity Operations Manager with 12+ years' experience in IT & Cybersecurity, dedicating his professional career to defending livelihoods against cyber threats while also serving as a Defensive Cyberspace Operator in the United States Marine Corps Reserves.

For the past 12 years, Mike has focused his career on assisting people leverage technology to improve their lives. Mike started his IT career working as an engineer for an MSP’s 24/7/365 NOC in downtown Chicago. His ability to dual-wield technical jargon and everyday language enabled him to help Information Systems Directors across the country to provide the best in uptime, reliability, and security to their end users.

After joining the Marine Corps Reserve in 2018 and training as a Cyber Network Administrator, he felt a calling to leverage technology to defend and protect. Since April of 2019, he has found his home at BLOKWORX currently serving as Cybersecurity Operations Manager. Mike completed his Master of Science in Cybersecurity in Spring 2022 and is actively serving part-time as a Cyber Defense Operator with the United States Marine Corps Reserve.

Cyber attacks are a growing threat in all walks of life. It's bad people, determined to steal from the vulnerable and unprotected. But the Cybersecurity Summit helps local IT specialists and other business people hone their skills to help avert such attacks.

The SWLA Cyber Security Summit on July 21 at L’Auberge Casino Resort in Lake Charles will provide advanced education and insight from national experts in the cyber security field to local business owners, managers, IT professionals, government officials and other attendees regarding this critical area of today’s business environment. Scheduled sessions include presentations from the FBI, LA Fusion Center, DHS/CISA, Extreme Networks, Rubrik and more. Vendor booths from local IT service providers and cyber security companies will also be part of the event.
