I’m happy to share that the Yuchengco Museum will officially open my *Nakita Sa Makati* exhibit to the public at 4:00 p.m. on May 15, after the installation is completed earlier that afternoon.
I look forward to welcoming friends, family, and everyone who would like to visit the exhibit. Hope to see you there.
For friends asking what Nakita Sa Makati is about… NAKITA SA MAKATI a photobook and exhibit Nakita Sa Makati—translated as *Seen at the Ebb*—offers a way of seeing shaped by attention and care. Here, the ebb is not only a place, but also a condition—a moment when resources are limited, when circumstances press in, and when what is essential quietly comes into view. Though the images are drawn from Makati, they reflect a reality shared across many parts of Metro Manila. This work is rooted in a simple truth: that to see clearly, one must slow down and stoop down—to recognize the true, the good, and the beautiful in the stream of everyday life. To stoop down is not merely a physical act. It is a disposition—a willingness to set aside haste, judgment, and distance, so that we may see with greater clarity and compassion. It is a way of meeting others with authenticity, patience, and care. What emerges in these encounters is not only hardship, but also resilience, humor, tenderness, and grace. These are not imposed meanings. They are lived realities—seen in gestures, relationships, and in the ways people endure and continue. In the end, this work is not only about what it means to live at the ebb of a place. It is also about seeing—and, in seeing, learning again how to be human. Exhibit at Yuchengco Museum until the end of June. Photobook and limited-edition prints will initially be available exclusively at the museum. Other venues in the Philippines will be announced shortly. Hope to see you there.
