Confined space rescue isn't about having a plan.

It's about having a plan that is tested and WORKS.

Ask yourself:

- When was your last full rescue drill?

- Do you know your actual response time, start to finish?

- Has your team ever practiced this under pressure — not just talked about it?

If you're not sure, that's your answer.

One afternoon. One timed drill. That's all it takes to find out where you stand before it matters.

Save this as a reminder to schedule your next drill.

One simple confined space fix is the difference between getting a citation of not.

The fix: Keep monitoring the air the whole time your crew is inside, and log every reading. ✅

That monitoring log is one of the first things inspectors ask for.

No log = likely citation, even if your first reading was clean.

Continue testing before the entry, but continue testing during the entry as well.

Copy-pasting yesterday's hazard assessment onto today's entry is one of the most overlooked risks in confined space work and it's one of the easiest to fix once you know to look for it.

Conditions in a space can change in minutes: ventilation, atmosphere, temperature, what's stored nearby, etc.

If the paperwork doesn't reflect right now the "safe" sign-off is really just a guess.
