Nicki Walsh of Sign Ease Mobile Notary spoke about Remote Online Notarization (RON) which is accepted in 47 states but California is not one of them. RON allows a notary to be in one location and notarize a document for someone in another location. The document to be notarized is uploaded along with the signer's ID and the document is electronically signed. The signature is then stored in a notary platform - not in a notaries book. Most lenders are moving away from accepting RON signatures and statistics are showing that more property is being stolen and data breached.
