It's history Friday!!🥳
Today we're not going too far back in time. Instead, we're taking you behind the scenes of one of our most recent and most unforgettable builds: the stunning 2025 29' Geneva Elegancia built by Shepherd Boats.
When a client approached us about creating a Shepherd inspired by the timeless elegance of a Riva, we jumped on the opportunity. The goal was to capture the iconic style that make Riva so special, and elevate it with our own craftsmanship, innovation, and Shepherd twist.
This two-and-a-half-year project was led by a small but incredibly talented group on our team!
Bart, our master woodworker, spent nearly six months in preparation alone! He built the jig to mount the boat, created patterns, and crafted molds for the hardware. From there, he constructed both the hull and interior entirely our of solid mahogany. Unlike many modern Rivas built with plywood bottoms that require replacement roughly every 12 years, the Geneva Elegancia features a lifetime no-soak bottom designed for durability and longevity. Even the frame layout sets this Shepherd apart from what you see on the water today!
Every detail matters! The hardware is 316 polished surgical stainless steel meaning it will never need to be plated again.
On the mechanical side, Keith led the charge. This Shepherd is powered by two- yes you heard us correctly, TWO, supercharged 6.2L Roush Ford Raptor engines. Each produces 570 horsepower, delivering an impressive 1,020 horsepower and pushing this beauty to 65+ mph. Performance that matches it's presence.
As we entered the final stretch, Rafael and Lars handled the finishing touches, while Lars and Irma completed the upholstery with precision.
Our goal was to unveil this showstopper at The Geneva Lakes Antique & Classic Boat Show in September 2025. And like always, our team delivered— proudly displaying the Geneva Elegancia and taking home People’s Choice 2025.
