✨ We’re over the moon to welcome Matt Orand to Museum EXP as our new Experience Designer, focusing on 2D design!

Matt’s journey into design launched into orbit in childhood—sparked by comic books and classic cartoons—and has since evolved into nearly two decades of stellar work in the museum world. A true multidisciplinary force, he brings a seasoned perspective to every project he touches. During his orbit at Omaha Children’s Museum, Matt built a versatile constellation of skills across marketing, operations, and exhibit development—helping launch immersive, interactive exhibits that have traveled nationwide. By fusing graphic design and sculpture, he creates environments that don’t just inform—they ignite curiosity.

At Museum EXP, Matt will focus on crafting environmental graphics, signage, and exhibition elements that transform complex visions into clear, engaging visual storytelling—guiding visitors through experiences like a well-charted galaxy.

It has been a great week celebrating our new team member—and his birthday! Join us in giving Matt a warm, cosmic welcome! 🚀

Kicking things off at Sea Center Texas 🐟🌊

We’re excited to partner with our friends at Taylor Studios on the renovation of this unique space dedicated to marine life, conservation, and environmental education. Together, we’re diving into how to make scientific research tangible, visible, and engaging for every visitor who travels to this special site. From hatchery to habitat, this renovation is all about connecting people to the real work happening behind the scenes—and bringing those stories to life in meaningful ways.

Stay tuned as we bring this vision to the surface. ✨

We’re heading to Baltimore!

Cynthia Brown, John Shaw, and Sarah Lima from the Museum EXP team will be at the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums’ Building Museums™ Symposium this week. It’s one of our favorite gatherings of architects, designers, and project leaders all focused on what it really takes to create great museum spaces.

If you’ll be attending, we’d love to connect! Let’s talk about how thoughtful planning and strong project management can help bring ambitious museum projects to life.

On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we reflect on the responsibility of memory—and action.

Museum EXP has been profoundly honored to serve as museum planner for the Holocaust Museum for Hope and Humanity, an institution dedicated to confronting hatred, advancing human rights, and transforming remembrance into moral courage. We are equally grateful to now be working with the Hilton Family Holocaust Education Center, whose mission centers on rigorous Holocaust pedagogy, critical thinking, and empowering learners to recognize and resist antisemitism and injustice in all its forms.

At a moment when misinformation, hate, and historical distortion are increasingly visible, activating history is not optional—it is essential. Holocaust education is not only about remembering the past; it is about equipping people to understand the present and shape a more just future.

Today, we honor the victims, uplift the survivors, and reaffirm our commitment to museums as spaces where history is engaged, empathy is cultivated, and hope is made actionable.

did not disappoint! The Museum EXP team left Davenport with full hearts and a whole crop of inspiration. 🌾We’re proud to sponsor and support this amazing conference. Our team was grateful to share tips about project planning, RFPs, and renovations, while squeezing in time for team bonding, QT with friends, and shenanigans of the general variety.
